Events

School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture by helping students and their families connect with others and celebrate achievement.

Events at George Bass School include:

Sports carnivals in athletics, swimming and soccer
Cultural recognition days
Performances, concerts and special assemblies
Excursions and incursions
Fundraising, charity and social activities
Curriculum focused events such as Public Education Week and National Simultaneous Storytime
Celebrations and award ceremonies

We also have special events to support transitions such as orientation days for new students, Year 6 Celebration Day and Year 12 Graduation.

Twilight Markets

Saturday 19th September

How can you support our fundraiser? Do you have, or know someone who has, a small business looking for opportunities to push their product? Let them know about our upcoming fundraiser and they can purchase a spot for their stall.

Pyjama Day Fundraiser

Friday 28th August

Students can wear their PJs to school for a small donation (which includes a warming hot chocolate on the day) to help our fundraising efforts. All money goes towards upgrading playground equipment.

Father's Day Celebrations

Tuesday 31st August

Welcoming family members who play an important part in our students' lives to celebrate Father's Day with them, and for students to purchase them a small gift to recognise this. More information will follow on Schoolbytes.

School Camp for students in Years 10-12

Wednesday 2nd - Friday 4th September

This action-packed 2-night residential camp gives older students an unforgettable adventure. Set in a supportive environment in Cobbity, the camp encourages students to be independent, demonstrate teamwork and develop confidence through new and exciting experiences such as ziplining, a high ropes challenge, kayaking and horse riding.

Planetarium Solar System Incursion

Thursday 17th September

Bringing the wonders of the universe directly to students with an immersive solar system planetarium incursion. Students will experience a 360-degree journey through space, exploring planets, stars and galaxies up close, sparking curiosity and deepening understanding of our cosmic neighborhood through stunning visual projections and expert-led storytelling.
