About our school

George Bass School provides a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student is recognised and supported to achieve their full potential. They are supported to feel connected to their school and proud of who they are and what they have achieved.

School staff work with students' families and therapists to create educational programs that support students to learn what is most meaningful for them in a way that is most accessible. Learning programs focus on skills for life and are based on the NSW curriculum. The curriculum is adjusted so that teaching is relevant for each student and focuses on their communication and independence skills.

The classrooms are set up in a way that is conducive to learning and where students feel safe. Classes are created to accommodate the way in which students learn more so than on age or disability.

Staff are highly in tune with the needs of the students, have high expectations of their potential, and know how to teach what students need to learn.
