Enrolment enquiries

George Bass School enrols students from kindergarten to Year 12 with an intellectual disability in the moderate to severe range. Students may have additional communication, sensory, health and behaviour needs in addition to their primary disability.

How to enrol

Enrolment into George Bass School is different to mainstream public schools. It involves a referral and placement process. If you believe this may be the right setting for your child, your local school is the first place to start. They will work with you to understand your child’s needs and help you explore the right support options available.

1. Find your local school: you can use School Finder to locate your local primary or high school.
2. Call the school, or drop in. Ask to speak with someone who can help you plan the most appropriate school enrolment for your child with disability.
3. Your local school will submit an application called an access request in consultation with the family. A local placement panel then reviews the application and makes a recommendation.
